Among Artificers, Scriveners are the most bookish. It’s rare to see Scriveners traveling without books and scrolls sprouting from their bags, and one would go to great lengths to plumb an archive of ancient knowledge. Unlike typical researchers however, Scriveners use what they learn, creating bespoke Dynamic Scrolls that adapt their findings to their needs.

##### Dynamic Scrolls
Using specially prepared inks and ancient incantations learned through your artifice, you can copy and modify your spells in the form of Dynamic Scrolls. During a long rest, you can spend 1 hour crafting a number of Dynamic Scrolls equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum 1). Attempting to crafting additional causes the ink on the previous Dynamic Scrolls to fade.
During their creation, you imbue each Dynamic Scroll with a spell you know, without expending any spell slots. You may imbue each scroll with a different spell, or multiples of one spell if you wish. Each Dynamic Scroll produces its spell at its lowest level. Your Dynamic scrolls fade and become unusable at the end of your next long rest.
When you or another creature takes the Use an Object action to read and cast a spell from one of your Dynamic Scrolls, you may replace the spells damage type with a damage type from another spell you know. The latter spell must be of the same level as the spell slot you expend.
When casting a spell through your Dynamic Scrolls, the reader does not require a spellcasting focus, however if the spell requires any material components, they will still need to be provided.
Once a Dynamic Scroll has been read, it's ink fades and becomes inert, unable to be cast again.
Additionally, if you find a spell scroll, you are able to copy the spell from it onto one of your Dynamic Scrolls. The spell must be of a level you have spell slots for, but the spell you wish to copy can be from any spell list.

##### Scrivener Spells
You gain additional spells at the Artificer levels listed. They do not count against the number of spells you know.

##### Interpretive Casting
When you or another creature uses one of your #Dynamic Scrolls to cast a spell, the caster may choose to augment the spell in one of the following ways:
- If the spell forces targets to make a saving throw, the caster can protect a number of creatures equal to your Intelligence modifier from the effects of the spell.
- The range of the spell doubles. If the spell has a range of touch, its range becomes 30 ft.
- If the spell misses it's target, or the target succeeds on a saving throw against the spell, the target takes half the spells damage (if any) but suffers no additional effects.
- The caster may add your Intelligence modifier to the damage of the spell.
The caster must choose which augmentation they wish to apply before the spell is cast. Once the spell has taken effect, the augmentation cannot be changed.

##### Master Scrivener
You've mastered your studies, allowing you to harness even more powerful magic. When you finish a long rest, choose one 6th-level spell from any spell list with a casting time of 1 action. You may create one Dynamic Scroll for the chosen spell.
