Your draconic companion, a young Gem Dragon, fights alongside you, its essence imbued with the radiant power of amethyst, emerald, ruby, sapphire or topaz. You gain the following benefits: - You learn the [[Divine Spells#Thaumaturgy|thaumaturgy]] cantrip. - You learn to speak, read, and write [[Languages#Scalataari|Scalataari]] or one other [[Languages#Common Languages|language]] or [[Languages#Dialects|dialect]] of your choice if you already know it. ##### Drake Warden Magic You gain additional spells at the Ranger levels listed. When you summon your Draconic Companion, it gains the following benefits: - Your companions [[Physical Capabilities#Movement Speed|movement speed]] increases to 40 ft. - Your companion grows wings on its back and gains a [[Physical Capabilities#Flying|flying speed]] of 20ft. - Your companion grows to [[Movement and Position#Creature Size|Medium]] size. If your size is Small or smaller, you can use your companion as a mount. While you are riding your companion, it can’t use the [[Physical Capabilities#Flying|flying speed]] of this feature. - Your companions Bite attack deals an extra 1d6 damage of the type determined by it's Draconic Essence. In addition, you gain [[Damage and Healing#Resistance|resistance]] to the damage type determined by your companion's Draconic Essence. ___ ### 11th Level ##### Drake’s Breath As an action, you or your [[#Draconic Companion]] can exhale a 30-foot cone of damaging breath. Each creature in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 3d6 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The damage type is determined by your companion's Draconic Essence. Both you and your [[#Draconic Companion]] can perform this action once. If one or both of you use this feature, it can’t be performed again until the creature that used it has finished a [[Survival Needs#Long Rest|long rest]], or you expend a spell slot of 3rd level or higher to use it again. ____ ### 15th Level ##### Perfected Bond Your bond to your [[#Draconic Companion]] reaches the pinnacle of its power. While your companion is summoned, you both gain the following benefits: - Your companions [[Physical Capabilities#Movement Speed|movement speed]] and [[Physical Capabilities#Flying|flying speed]] both increase to 50 ft. - Your companion grows to [[Movement and Position#Creature Size|Large]] size. If your size is Medium or smaller, you can use your companion as a mount. While you are riding your companion, it's [[Physical Capabilities#Flying|flying speed]] is decreased to 30ft. - Your companions Bite attack deals an additional 1d6 damage of the type chosen for its Draconic Essence (for a total of 2d6 extra damage). - The amount of damage done by your [[#Drake’s Breath]] feature increases to 5d6.
