There are many different kinds of games played across many different cultures throughout the Shatter. This list serves as a guide to the games you may discover and play in your travels.
Games are divided into having Complex rules, which may take place over multiple rounds or turns, while others may have Simple rules, which can usually be resolved with just a roll of the die or a skill check. Some games may even be listed as having both Complex and Simple rules, in which case, either rules can be used for that game.

### Complex Games

##### Liar's Dice
The game begins with a wager being made. Usually the wager is a value of ![[shard.png]] determined and agreed upon by the players, however it isn't required to be ![[shard.png]], and can be anything the players agree upon.
All players roll 5d6, keeping the results hidden. The totals are added up. A random player is chosen to call out any number below their added total value. The next player must either raise, by giving a higher total (either by telling the truth or lying) or challenge the call. If the call is accepted, the next player must do the same until a call is challenged. If a call is challenged, the challenged roll is revealed and if the total value is higher or the same as what was called, the challenger is eliminated. If the called value is above the total value, the liar is eliminated.
Whoever remains between the Liar and the Challenger begins the next round. The game continues until there is only one player remaining, who wins the entire pot.

##### Three-Dragon Ante
The game begins with each player rolling five d12s to determine their hand of "cards", keeping these die rolls hidden from the other participants. Each player may then choose to either make their opening bet, or fold.
Starting to the left of the dealer and continuing clockwise, each participant reveals one of their die rolls. This step is repeated twice more; on the second and third round, each participant can raise their bet before revealing their next die roll. The other participants each have three options: match the bet, raise their bet (in which case all participants must match that bet in turn), or fold, forfeiting any bet they've placed and dropping out of the game.
Each participant who hasn't folded reveals their die rolls. The hands are ranked in order from lowest to highest here.
- Highest Die
- Pair
- 2 Pair
- 3 of a kind
- Small Straight (4 in a row)
- Full House
- Four of a Kind
- Large Straight (5 in a row)
- Five of a Kind
The Player with the highest value hand takes the pot. The value of the die should be used to break ties, for example, rolling three 9s will beat rolling three 4s. In the case of a true tie, the pot is split evenly.

##### Wahiid Waeshen (Life or Death)
In order to play this game of cards, a player must first buy in to the game. The minimum buy-in may change per game.
Each player rolls 2d10 for the table to see. The "dealer" does the same, keeping one of their die hidden. After the first roll is made, each Player can decide to Hit, Stand, Split or Surrender.
- If Hit is chosen, the player rolls an additional d10.
- If Stand is chosen, the player choses to accept their current combined value.
- Split may only be performed if you roll the same number twice. If they split, you must match your previous buy-in and apply it to the split hand.
- If Surrender is chosen, you can end the hand, taking back half your bet.
Each player, including the dealer, takes turns rolling any number of additional d10s. All die faces are face value, except for the 1, which can be worth 1 or 11. If the dealer scores a 21, all players lose. If a player scores a 21, they win. If neither occurs, a player loses if their total is less than the dealer’s, and wins if their total is greater than the dealer’s. Payout for winning players is 1.5x their bet. If both the dealer and a player score a 21, that player wins their bet back.

##### Liar's Dice
Each player rolls 5d6+Charisma+Deception/Liar's Dice Set Proficiency. Highest total wins.
<br>

##### Slot Machines (Az'Garaath)
Simple clockwork devices that can accept both ![[shard.png]] and ![[bit.png]], each machine has a spring-loaded lever and five identical spinning cylinders called reels. Six golden, infernal runes are painted on each reel. A player inserts up to 10 shard into the machine's slot and pulls the lever, which causes the reels to spin, stop, and display a row of five runes. The player wins by matching three or more runes.
To determine the result of a pull, the player rolls 5d6. The pay-out, if any, varies according to the results, as shown in the pay-outs table.
| 5d6 Result | Payout |
| --------------- | ------ |
| Three of a kind | x3 |
| Four of a kind | x5 |
| Five of a kind | x10 |
